Do the police have the right to question how far you went with your boyfriend while making out?

My friend and her boyfriend were making out in his car and the police came over to them took each one out of the car by themselves and asked how far they got, and asked the guy if her clothes were still on. I just find this to be crazy and wrong...am I right?

Also, they told the boy to leave while they waited for the girls parents to get there and pick her up...am I right to find this totally wrong??Do the police have the right to question how far you went with your boyfriend while making out?
If one or both of you were underage, the contact could be illegal. Therefore, the questions were justified. If both were of legal age, the questions were inappropriate.

Assuming one or both were underage, separating the two and advising the parents seems appropriate also.Do the police have the right to question how far you went with your boyfriend while making out?
The questions are legal and justified, but i agree with you, i don't find it right at all.

Cops abusive their power sometimes, and get into peoples business and personal choices.

Like wearing a seat belt...its a persons personal choice. But the law says it's a requirement, and i don't think its the cops business.

But yeah, i think they were being ridiculous.

:)
They can ask whatever they want and usually don't care what is legal or illegal they are too empowered to care just remember that you have the right to say absolutely nothing. They may beat you if you stay silent but it is the best option 90% of the time.
It depends on wether they were both of legal age (Indecent activities with a minor) Also, they may have asked those questions to see if they could charge them with incedent exposure or something along that line. It really depends on the laws where you guys live.
I suppose so..I guess it depends on your state..if certian contact is prohibited. If they were in a public area and she had no clothes on..I suppose that can be charged for disorderly conduct or exposure. I could be wrong.
Cops can ask anything they want. Remember..u dont have to answer if u dont want to.
funny...the same thing happened to me! oh wait...it is me!
